Short summary

Kaya Cohen, abandoned as a baby and raised by her foster mom, learns she is the last remaining descendant of the Wing Chun bloodline. Upon finding out her true lineage she has to make an important sacrifice in order to restore the lineage and unlock her chi source. She is gifted with the ability to "cross servers" and becomes aware of 4 immortals who guard and protect her from the unseen world of Demon Banshees and Spirit War Lords. She crosses over into the immortal realm to meet her Grandmother, Wing Chun, who demands more of her than she can handle, but learns that her decisions affect everyone she loves, and that she is the key to restoring the blood lineage, and saving her bloodline from a holocaust.

IMMORTAL FIST is one of those cheesy and embarrassing American action indies inspired by Chinese and kung fu cinema. The obvious inspirations here are the likes of CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON and the IP MAN franchise. This is essentially a series of fight scenes filmed in a local park with fighters dressed up in old-fashioned cosplay-style robes and the like. There are some okay moves, but the choreography tries way too hard to be slick and in the end the inappropriate music and limited performances kill it. I found it pretty embarrassing overall.

An indie martial arts film typically found on Amazon Prime. The acting is fairly sub par. The wardrobes are not very pleasing in terms of aesthetics. The film essentially ends up being a bunch of cosplayers having fun doing martial arts scenes in a local park. You can tell they had fun doing it which is why I give it two stars instead of one. Seems school project quality.

Where to start, with horrible dialogue, bad cinematography (looks like a cheap handheld), horrible Wing Chun, bad acting, horrible characters, and just bad all around. They have a kid who is supposed to be an ancient spirit walking around in a robe, a Chinese deity or whatever carrying a Japanese Katana. The fight scenes are horrible! They are so badly choreographed and acted out I question if anyone had any film stunt or filming experience and even any kung fu fighting experience. The Kung-Fu is pretty obviously just stuff from in class non-realistic sparring with a lot of don't punch to the face or maybe it was how they were taught. EIther way it's insulting to WIng Chun, Kung-Fu, asian culture, and Caucasian people for being in it. Anyone who rates this above a 2 must know someone in it.

There is a lot going on here - found this on Amazon Prime and this is probably one of the most original films I've seen in a long time. It touches on some feminist topics, love that there a lot of lead females, but it's a quirky sci-fi action martial arts movie done on a low budget, which is a seriously bold move. Low budget Indie films in the Sci-Fi genre almost NEVER work, but I have to hand it to this crew, they made what they had work. They were fun and inventive, and told a story about self sacrifice. Viewer advised - it's a bit of a weird film. I gave it a 7 because they pulled off Sci-fi on a low budget. If they had some more time to build out the world, fine tune the plot points I would have given it an even more generous rating. I'm probably being pretty generous giving it a 7, but I loved the originality. It's one of those strange movies that will probably get a lot of attention in 20 years.

This is so wrong in so many ways, it shouldn't be allowed to be called a movie' it's a child play.

What did i just see? What were they trying to do?

Its as if a lot of 5 year olds tried to make a movie.

Avoid at all costs, its utter trash.

It makes me wonder if this film is a school project. but for the purpose of providing an insight, these are my comments:

Story Plot - there is a very good story plot but poorly executed. Acting - literally need more lessons in acting but they tried their best so A for effort Effects - Tolerable but can be improved a lot. Martial Arts - Need more training and since they are newbie in acting... A for effort Costume/ Make up - the banshee is great but everything else is awful Sound/ music - tolerable

Given the right director, artists and budget, this can be a good movie.

If I asked my mates to make a film and filmed as we went, you would expect a film like this. Strange to see it on IMDB as it lowers the bar so low you might as well start adding school productions. There is nothing redeemable aside from the main girl is kinda hot in a cam girl type way. There was no Wing Chun just generic Kung Fu that was badly pulled off. The acting is person off the street quality. I've seen better costumes at haloween in my local pub. You get the impression, there is literally no reason to watch this. It's not differnt or edgy it's just unwatchable and a masterclass on how to do everything badly.

Initial opening sequence was good, thereafter it became repetitive, meandering on and on, then just finished.

I found this little gem on Amazon Prime and judging from the poster on Amazon, I thought it was going to be a bigger budget film. It's actually a low budget indie film that is done quite well considering it's obvious limitations. I watched it without my kids due to no rating, but was pleased to find that it's family friendly, no blood/gore or excessive violence. I'd give it a PG rating. My kids thought it was great, so the creators certainly have a niche. There are a lot of Japan Anime tropes all throughout the film (which I didn't actually get) until I watched it with my kids, and they filled me in. I saw some Jackie Chan references... very original but also an ode to popular Anime's and Martial Arts movies.

I give this 10 stars because this is an interesting new world we haven't seen. Lot's of fun surprises all along the way, what you think this is, it's not. Great performances by a brand new and fresh cast we've never seen before. The whole family can watch it and be entertained, which is refreshing.

It's a guardian angel story placed in a Sci-Fi/Martial Arts world. The main character, Kaya finds out she is the last remaining bloodline descendant of a great martial arts lineage. She has to make a sacrifice to restore and protect the bloodline. The film has a scene after the credits, so it's intended to be a series.

Overall it's very quirky, stylized, and fun.
