Short summary

In South Africa, black and white rhinos attack a group of tourists for no apparent reason. Are tourists unwittingly provoking these normally shy animals? If so, how?

A black rhinoceros gored a female wildlife researcher named Kirsten Bond in a holding pen at Hluhluwe-Imfolozi on September 21, 2004. A month later, another black rhinoceros charged at a young male Zululand contractor named Mandelenkosi Magubane. It struck him in the right side of the chest. Magubane fell screaming to the ground to attract the attention of his two colleagues.

Mark and Sean Crozier were hiking with a safari group when a black rhinoceros launched an assault on both of them, but Magubane was by himself. He was twenty feet from his two Zululand contract colleagues when a black rhinoceros charged at him.

This episode's title is also known as "Rhino Rampage".

A white rhinoceros at Kruger National Park charged and lifted up safari guide Elias Chauke with its horn before he was able to pull his trigger at it. His colleague, Dumisani Zwane, hit the rhinoceros as it passed him, making it drop Chauke. Meanwhile another black rhinoceros charged at the group of five tourists, injuring one anonymous man in the buttocks and the back. This assault occurred on April 15, 2004.

Though the narrator mentions that a black rhinoceros assault on Vonna Henry (Richard Henry's wife) occurred in Zimbabwe's Matusadona National Park in this episode, it actually occurred in Botswana's Moremi Game Reserve. This incident was in September of 2005.

There are no fatal assaults in this episode.
