This episode features the first appearance of Ronnie's Texan girlfriend Bonnie Sue McAfee, a character who would continue to recur throughout the rest of this series and its subsequent spin-off. Prior to this, actress Judi Meredith had two other recurring roles on the show, first as Ronnie's Actor's Academy peer, Velma Rogers, during the family's year-long New York stint, and then as his U.S.C. classmate, Judi, after they'd returned to California.
