Short summary

When Brian McAfee's father decides to take him out of college, Gracie, Blanche and Ronnie hop a plane to Texas to change his mind. Once George realizes what's happened, he leaves with Von Zell on his heels, convinced there's an oil deal.

This episode's Vaudeville Afterpiece is titled "Henry Wadsworth Allen, Poet."

This episode features the first appearance of Ronnie's Texan girlfriend Bonnie Sue McAfee, a character who would continue to recur throughout the rest of this series and its subsequent spin-off. Prior to this, actress Judi Meredith had two other recurring roles on the show, first as Ronnie's Actor's Academy peer, Velma Rogers, during the family's year-long New York stint, and then as his U.S.C. classmate, Judi, after they'd returned to California.
