Short summary

June reflects on her relationship with her mother as she navigates her way through Gilead. In Little America, Moira tries to cope with the trauma she endured.

When June leaves the econopeople's building, the design/pattern in the door's stain glass window strongly resembles an 'eye'.

The episode starts off pretty slow is focused mostly on June. While not as intense as the first two episodes of season 2, the pace fits June's situation. Her struggle to accept that she will have to leave her daughter behind, leading to flashbacks of her relationship with her mother, really puts the difficulty and thin balance of motherhood into perspective for the series. The continuation of Moira and Luke's story in Canada illustrates well the way in which survivors of something tragic cope and ultimately move on with their lives, finding little lights of hope within the darkness. The ending is a super intense cliffhanger. I watched this episode in a screening and the entire room made a audible gasp at the end. I hope the next episodes continues to explore the lives of the other characters (I'd really love to see the backstory of Aunt Lydia.)

I used to watch this series and even though it's not great, I considered it acceptable. This last episode however changed it to unacceptable.

Long has June Osborn suffered as a handmaid and we have suffered along with her. So, since she escaped I was hoping we would see something different. I was wrong! The guys responsible decided that she hasn't suffered long enough and I suppose the rest of the show will be more of the same. Btw when you are running away from such oppression and you are on an airplane you don't stop. If the best you can hope for is a bullet on the head why stop.

So, if you want more torture and humiliation for June all the better for you, or, if you prefer, you can change channel as I do.

What a jarring handful of moments caught gorgeously of camera with one of this series best cinematography that's breathless as it should be. The lighting makes the scenes much more profound!

The best quote of this season so far is "When you're raised by a feminist you're always waiting for a man to come and rescue you."

With 3 episodes and I feel like not comparing seasons, no, but instead it shows how the quality is progressing as it continues each episode. Theres a constant level of tension that I have with this series that makes its special to me. An ominous feeling of dred. I know it's coming. The point when the camels back breaks or the stuff hits the fan. Any moment or scene it will happen and to have been able to create and maintain this feeling for this show, speaks volumes for the handmaids tale!!

Season 2 has achieved where series like westworld has failed. Its remained to stay consistent with its quality and continuity. It's still shock and awe with moments or torture but it's so gripping and captivating and beautifully shot, oh is it top tier quality! Hulu scored hugely with this original that is possibly the best original of the major platforms. The acting is superb and this episode features June's mother who also plays a feminist in amazons transparent.

The flashbacks are done brilliantly and it's very thought provoking at times and I love how this show makes me paranoid. At one point when she was leaving that community towards the end I thought with all the woman behind her, it was her new community.

But I have a feeling shes going to the colonies. Something tells me her and momma dukes are destined to meet back up with all the build up.

Mea while we see Luke getting by in Canada and her great friend unhappy. We can tell where thats going to go.

I loved the flashback of the new character in this episode and seeing the world at a time where these "laws" are incorporated. It's so horrifying when they show those scenes like saying a marriage document is no longer recognized between two women. I particularly found this episode a delight in learning more background of characters and to see how the woman on the train behind June saw the map and probably reported her. That's why the plane base was alerted in time.

Just as her tear fell and landed the plane went to take off but that all too familiar moment happened and showed us that this show isn't a place to feel warm and happy inside. I name it take off as the plane failed to do, giving her freedom and letting go, but instead kept with the writing of this remarkable series and stayed grounded. Most importantly, after this episode, things will take off now that she is captured and the stakes are this high!!!

Rather than just stay put like she is told (because the next stop may not be safe) this stupid woman cries and bangs on the car door so she won't be left alone. And she puts everyone at risk. Stupid AND selfish! Stupid people don't usually last very long I'm dangerous situations.

What an episode with stellar acting and writing. The flashbacks were really amazing. We get to know about June's mom and the Show is definitely building its pace. And seriously we did not expect the shooting at the end. Outstanding

This show really has been the "Offred Show" for the first 13 episodes now, but that has worked to this point. This was a strong episode that really told the story of June's struggle. You could feel the pain through the screen and if the narrations were just eliminated Elisabeth Moss' performance would be even better.

    A good episode for sure.

Watching her escape through Gilead was intense.

The ending of this episode left me..........well.......lost for words.

I was already thinking about her role in Canada, what was she gonna do there.

Really looking forward to the next episode
