Short summary

The documentary Playing it Forward shows a week with The Worcester Royals, a college American football team in England who in their first four seasons had never won a single game. The film reveals attitudes towards the sport in England through players, coaches, fans and an engaging group of local 'characters'. The differences between the near fanatical approach to college football in the USA are contrasted with the pure grass roots 'amateurism' of the UK college teams where camaraderie, socializing, and good sportsmanship hold sway.
