Colonel Humphrey Flack Art is Fleeting (1953–1959) watch online HD

This is a live broadcast on the DuMont TV Network. The TV series is based on the Colonel Flack character (and his secretary, Uthas P. Garvey) created by Everett Rhodes Castle in a series of twelve (12) short stories that appeared in the Saturday Evening Post between April 25, 1936 and April 20, 1946. The entire first season of 39 episodes was performed live. At least twelve (12) episodes survive at the UCLA Film and Television Archive and two episodes are maintained at the Paley Center for Media. The series was also known at various times as the Fabulous Fraud, the Adventures of Colonel Flack, and The Impostor. A second season was not ordered by the DuMont TV Network, which went bankrupt a short time later. The entire DuMont season of programs were re-staged and taped for syndication in 1958-59 by the Desilu Studio.

Reviews of this series from archived newspapers that appeared after the premiere were favorable. Billboard praised its smart scripting and smooth teamwork of the principle performers. The TV critic of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle wrote that the program was a welcome relief from the mayhem, cops and robbers of other shows.
